Fire Island, NY. 08/06/2017 Fire Island Lighthouse. The original fresnel lens of the Fire Island Lighthouse, a visible landmark on the Great South Bay, is on display at the Fresnel Lens Display Building. The lens was disassembled in 1933 and moved to Philadelphia where it was displayed at the Franklin Institute. The lens was then returned to Fire Island and reassembled in 2011. © Peter Monsees
